More about Dodge

The brand Dodge was founded by John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge, brothers, in 1900 as an auto parts manufacturer. In 1914, they forayed into automobile manufacturing and produced their first automobile in 1915. The two died in 1920, and the company was then acquired by Dillon, Read & Company in 1925 followed by Chrysler in 1928. Dodge vehicles were mainly trucks and full size passenger cars up until the 1980s when they launched the Dodge Caravan mini-van.

The Dodge brand continues to survive today, with several models of cars, trucks, SUVs and vans in production across the world. They are owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles out of London. They produce a popular sports car under the Dodge brand called the Viper. The engines are hand assembled by highly skilled technicians, and it is said no two Vipers come off the assembly line the same.
